Crystal Trap is the new Fortnite island developed by Dot Beyond, designed for players who crave an intense and ever-evolving experience.
Up to 30 players face off across four progressive stages where nothing is left to chance: movement, combat, and environment merge to create a thrilling, dynamic, and always unpredictable challenge.
The Concept
Crystal Trap stems from a simple yet ambitious idea: to challenge the traditional concept of a “level” and transform it into a living progression. Each stage is built to test a different aspect of gameplay, from agility to strategy, with one final twist: players themselves can change the rules of the game.
Gameplay: Clear the Stages. Become the Champion. Rule the Island.
Stage 1 – Movement & Survival A maze of intricate paths and treacherous platforms. Survive for 90 seconds or take out an opponent. Parkour, speed, and reflexes are your only way to stay in the game.
Stage 2 – Speed & Aerial Chaos Sliders, trampolines, and moving platforms turn combat into a frenzied, spectacular showdown. Every jump is a risk, every move can flip the fight.
Stage 3 – Strategy & Environmental Hazards Lava floors, multiple levels, timed portals. Smart movement is the only way to reach the next stage. Time and environment become enemies to overcome.
Stage 4 – Duel & Total Control The final level is an exclusive arena for just two players. The winner earns the title of Champion… and the power to alter the island’s rules: gravity, speed, gameplay dynamics—everything can change in their favor. A unique mechanic that makes every match feel fresh.
Design: Visual Tension & Strategic Control
Crystal Trap is built to evolve right before the player’s eyes. Each area has a distinct visual identity that immediately communicates the type of challenge ahead.
Dynamic effects, sounds, and visual transitions heighten progression and tension.
The UI tracks stage progress, portal status, and the influence of the active Champion—who can impact other players in real time.
