DigLib is the project Erasmus+ that transforms public libraries into digital hubs. The goal is to bridge the digital divide by empowering the role of librarians as community facilitators and moderators.

DigLib aims to leverage the potential of public libraries as inclusive community hubs for lifelong learning. Recognizing that the rapid digitization of services can lead to the exclusion of those without adequate skills or tools, the project seeks to address the digital divide. Through training and skill enhancement, the project is committed to providing librarians with the necessary resources to promote social inclusion and facilitate access to new opportunities.

What will we do?

Over the next three years (2025-2027), the project will leverage the power of non-formal education to provide librarians with the skills needed to face the challenges of digital transformation. This process includes mapping the digital skills of librarians and users, creating training programs to enhance their capabilities, and developing a dynamic learning environment. The final goal is to support librarians in bridging the digital divide within their communities.

Partnership

The DigLib (Digital Libraries) project is an Erasmus+ initiative running from 2025 to 2027. It brings together a consortium of five partners from four EU countries: FRSI (Poland), PL2030 (Belgium), EOS (Romania), and CSBNO and Dot Beyond (Italy). The project was officially launched with a kick-off meeting in Milan on March 11 and 12, where it was also presented to the Italian library sector at the "Waiting for Next Library 2025" event.
